Autocad Draw Line Tangent to Two Circles

Circles and Ellipse command

Circles

The circles are widely used in blueprint and drawings.

The circle command is used to depict a circle by specifying the heart point and radius.

Allow's empathize by ii examples.

Instance 1:

The steps to create a circle are given below:

  1. Click on the Circle icon on the Ribbon Console, every bit shown in the below image:
    Circles and Ellipse command
    OR
Blazon Circumvolve or C on the command line and press Enter.
  2. Specify the center signal of a circle on the workspace or viewport.
  3. Specify the radius of the circle.
    Or
To specify bore, type D - press Enter - specify the diameter of the circle.
  4. Press Enter.

Case 2:

We tin tin can besides create the circumvolve randomly. The steps are listed below:

  1. Click on the Circumvolve icon on the Ribbon Console, equally shown in the below paradigm:
    Circles and Ellipse command
    OR
Type Circle or C on the command line and press Enter.
  2. Specify the center point of a circle on the workspace or viewport.
  3. Specify the endpoint of the radius through the cursor.

Types of Circles

At that place are three types of circles, which are listed below:

  1. ii point circle
  2. three point circumvolve
  3. Tangent circumvolve

ane) two Point circle

We can create a circumvolve by specifying the two endpoints.

The distance betwixt the ii specified endpoints will be considered as the diameter of that circumvolve.

Let's understand with an example.

Instance: A circle between two lines.

The steps to create a two-betoken circumvolve are listed beneath:

  1. Select the 2-Bespeak circle choice from the drop-downward listing of the circle, equally shown in the beneath image:
    Circles and Ellipse command
    Or
Type C or Circle on the control line - Printing Enter- type 2P - press Enter.
  2. Click on the first endpoint of a circle diameter. Nosotros can also type the value to specify the endpoint.
  3. Click on the 2d endpoint of a circle diameter through the cursor, as shown in the beneath image:
    Circles and Ellipse command
We can specify the endpoints co-ordinate to the requirements.
  4. The circumvolve will be created, equally shown in the beneath prototype:

Circles and Ellipse command

ii) iii Bespeak circle

We can create a circle by specifying the iii endpoints.

Permit'due south understand with an case.

Example: A circle betwixt three edges.

The steps to create a three-point circle are listed beneath:

  1. Create three edges.
  2. Select the iii-Point circle option from the drop-down list of the circumvolve, as shown in the beneath epitome:
    Circles and Ellipse command
    Or
Blazon C or Circle on the command line - Press Enter- type 3P - printing Enter.
  3. Click on the first point.
  4. Click on the second point.
  5. Click on the third betoken.
The three points are shown in the below image:
    Circles and Ellipse command
  6. The circumvolve volition exist fatigued, every bit shown in the below image:

Tangent circumvolve

The tangent circle control is used to describe circles on the tangent.

There are two types of the tangent circle, that appear on the drop-downwardly list of the circle icon on the ribbon panel, equally shown in the below image:

Circles and Ellipse command

Allow'south sympathise with 3 examples.

Case 1: Tan, Tan, Radius

The steps to create a Ttr (Tangent tangent radius) circle are listed below:

  1. Describe ii lines in the viewport, equally shown in the below image:
    Circles and Ellipse command
  2. Select the Tan, Tan, Radius circle pick from the drib-downwards listing of the circumvolve on the ribbon panel.
    Or
Blazon C or Circumvolve on the command line - Press Enter- type ttr - press Enter.
  3. Click on the showtime signal on the first tangent.
  4. Click on the second signal on the other tangent.
  5. Specify the radius of the circle. For case, four.
  6. The circle volition be drawn on the two tangents, as shown in the beneath epitome:

Circles and Ellipse command

The circle will be adjusted according to the specified radius.

Instance two: Tan, Tan, Tan

The steps to create a (Tangent tangent tangent) circumvolve are listed beneath:

  1. Describe iii lines on the viewport, equally shown in the below image:
    Circles and Ellipse command
  2. Select the Tan, Tan, Tan circle option from the driblet-down list of the circumvolve.
  3. Click on the starting fourth dimension betoken on the first tangent.
  4. Click on the 2nd point on the 2nd tangent.
  5. Click on the tertiary signal on the third tangent.
  6. The circumvolve will exist drawn on the three tangents, equally shown in the beneath prototype:

Circles and Ellipse command

We can alter the tangent and points according to the requirements.

Example iii: Tan, Tan, Radius

To create a circle inside a triangle

The steps to create a circumvolve within a triangle are listed beneath:

  1. Describe a triangle in the viewport, as shown in the beneath epitome:
    Circles and Ellipse command
  2. Select the Tan, Tan, Radius circumvolve option from the drop-down listing of the circle. Or
Blazon C or Circle on the command line - Press Enter- type ttr - press Enter.
  3. Click on the first point on i side of the triangle.
  4. Click on the 2d and third points on the other side of the triangle.
  5. The circle will be drawn within the circumvolve, as shown in the below paradigm:
